Jordanelle Report
#1
I fished Jordanelle yesterday afternoon for a few hours after I received reports about the ice. Thanks for all of your help! I went in at the main entrance to the park and fished on the south side of the park. Caught around 20 perch, and a beautiful rainbow! Many of the perch were much larger than the ones I caught several weeks ago. I must have found where the larger perch were. I used a Kastmaster attractor and an ice fly connected about 2 inches from the Kastmaster. I tipped the fly with a wax worm. Also caught a few using perch eyes.

The ice was thick. In fact I had difficulty drilling the holes by hand. The weather was beautiful. I was down to my shirt sleeves after a while. Should be ice at Jordanelle for a while longer. Passed Deer Creek on my way to and from Jordanelle. It shouldn't be long before we will be lauching boats.

Any problems getting out onto the ice (thin edges)? How much slush on the ice?

Kent,

I tool my ATV out on Jordanelle Monday. Edges were great no slush to speak of.Fishing was slow for me. Lots of fish on the Vexilar but not many takers. The perch I landed were a lot bigger than other trips this year. I caught 6 over 12".

There was not much slush on the Jordanelle, but the weather was so warm there probably will be some soon. The edges were solid.
