Wheres the hard water?

[Sad] It can't be over. I've been out of town for the last week. Is there any action on safe ice? I'm just not ready to put the auger away.

The higher up you go in elevation the better the ice. You shouldn't have much of a problem early in the morning but getting off the ice might be a problem without a plank. The overnight temps are still keeping the ice frozen but that won't last long. I think this will be my last weekend icefishing for this year. WH2

GO HIT JORDANELLE, SHOULD BE GOOD FOR A FEW MORE WEEKS AMEN. I WAS THERE SUNDAY, NO SLUSH ANYWHERE, FIVE INCHES OF HARD SNOW OVER A 12 TO 18 INCH ICE CAP. TRY HAILSTONE IN THE MAYFLOWER MARINA, ROCK CLIFFS WAS KINDA SLOW FISHING, BUT THE BB GUN SHOOTIN WAS HOTTT AND THE PABST WAS COLD...AS WE DRILLED A HALF HOLE FOR IT!!! CAUGHT ONE TROUT 16 INCHES, 3 POUNDS ABOUT, MEAL WORMS AND WAXIES ON TINY JIGGS. WITH FLASHER SPOONS ABOUT 2 OR 3 FEET OVER EM, I THINK....NO FINDER...WE WERE IN ABOUT 15 FEET OF WATER AND AFTER A GUY WITH A CAMERA SHOWED UP HE TOLD US THERE WAS NOTHING BUT SILT ON BOTTOM. BUT JORDANELLE SHOULD BE FISHABLE FOR AT LEAST ONE MORE WEEK IF NOT TWO. BUT TAKE A PLANK....AND A POKER POLE TO TEST AHEAD OF YOU FOR SOFT SPOTS AND THIN ICE JUST TO BE SAFE.

LATERS,

I fished Rockport on Sunday. Went down by the second pull off. Didn't have any truble getting out on the ice. But better take a plank just in case. Got some ok perch and 1 trout. I was using a jighead with a green booger and a waxy.
