Went to the Web again today, couldn't resist.
The Good - Caught about a dozen trout, mostly browns, from about 15 - 19 in. in about 4 hrs. Caught my biggest this year and maybe for many years, a brownie that measured 21 1/2 in. and big heavy bodied. The 19 in brown was no slouch!!! Didn't see my moose friend.!!!!!! LOL
The Bad - Saw a lot more dead deer, about 1/2 dozen weak ones, one that could hardly stand, and released one that was tangled up in fencing. She was preety weak too. Sad,
, . Really hate to see this!!!! Don't know what the problem is. Seems to be plenty of forage and open areas. Talked to a guy that has horses and cattle there and asked if they could be eating his hay and because deer can't digest they starve with full bellies. He said that the snow in the hills have just been too deep and they have come down on the roads etc. looking for food. He hasn't seen any deer in his hay!???? It just recently opened up somewhat.
The ugly - Got out of my truck to close the gate behind me, closed the gate, came back to the truck and tried to open the door, locked!!!!!!! Engine running, all the windows shut and Sparky standing on the window ledge wagging his tail!!!!!!! He had steped on the window lock switch. @##**#@ Now what? Crawled thru the back/shell and tried to get in the back window. Latched!! @#**@ Well I broke out the window with my shovel and crawled thru and got my keys. Oh well, such is life. Learned a lesson not to leave the dog inside with the keys/put a set in the cab. Sparky wasn't too thrilled to have a window busted all over him.
