I went to Utah Lake yesterday (but if anyone asks I was in class, lol[angelic]) down by the Lindon Boat Harbor and the bubble up to check out the conditions. It looks like the entire north end of the lake is open water. There was a boat out there 1/2 mile west of the bubble up. The ice was farther south, and broken into large sheets with water between them.
The water level has definitely come up since last fall -- in fact it's come up about 2 feet and runoff hasn't even started yet really. Hopefully it fills up a few more feet when the snowpack starts melting. A couple more days of this warm weather and the entire ice sheet should be gone.
Oh, and contrary to what the Fishing Proclamation says, the bubble-up pipe is still pumping water into the lake despite the steel plant being closed, and the bubbles are going full roar, so fish should still be attracted to the area including pre-spawn walleyes and schools of white bass.
