Caught 5 species today in soft water!

BUT.....I'm in Arizona. :-)

I took my wife's little sisters over to Tempe Town Lake today. It's a damned up river channel near Arizona State. I think the rain made it harder than it should have been but we still managed to catch the following:

-4 planter trout

-3 LM bass (only 10-11 inches...released)

-7 or 8 small bluegill and hybrid sunfish....released

-2 decent crappie

-and about 16 yellow bass (all 7"-8" long, but all together will make great fish tacos!)

We had a great time! The fish were small, but kept us intersted. Just like in the area Tubedude was fishing in, we had to contend with athletes, but in our case they were SWIMMING right across our lines. Tempe Town Lake was the site for the water portion of a tri-athalon.

[cool][blue]Glad you got the girls out fishing. Maybe you scored some "fishing pass points" so that when you get back down next month we can do something serious.[/blue]

[#0000ff]Yeah, today was a day for weather and recreationists. Just a typical day in "Zony Land".[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Did you read the article in Thursday's outdoor section of the paper here...about a guy catching a 13.5 pound largemouth out of Kiwanis Park lake. He caught it on 4 pound line and a gob of Power Bait. Those largemouths got no pride.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]That would be the fish of a lifetime for most folks. But ol Goober just took it home, where his brother fried it up and fed six or seven people with it. Did have a picture of it, and it was weighed on certified scales. The tackle shop owner offered to pay for having it mounted if Goober would let him display it in the shop. Nope. That's dinner.[/#0000ff]
