I was there on monday night from about 6pm until 7. It was great. I landed 5 trout. 3 smaller rainbows & two bigger brookies. Was getting hit alot & had alot of follows. Used a small size kastmaster chartruese & orange with black spots. Slow retrieve seemed to work the best. Felt good to feel the fish hit the lure in open water. It reminded me of why I love fishing. Good Luck fishing out there. If anyone would like to give me some tips on going after walleye I would really appreciate them. This will be my first year going after them. Thanks

I fished willow on saturday, my cousin and I caught nine brookies in about an hour. caught them all jigging nightcrawlers weightless. There pretty big brookies, the biggest was about 17 inches, avg. 14 inches. really ugly fish though, there fins and tails are all haggard. It didn't feel right, brookies are one of the best looking trout, but theses ones are just straight up fugly. I don't think I'm to big on these ugly, weak, planter fish. At least it gave me something to do for a while.
Can't wait for the bass bite to pick up!

Willow Pond is the pond off I215 just east of Redwood Road. I Know there are catfish and in the winter the DWR plant some good size trout. The trout are palnted bigger so the will provide winter fishing, They will die off in the heat of summer. I fished willow on 9-13-04 and caught four 14-16 splake. I think those ugfly brook trout were actually splake. Two winters ago the dwr planted some lake trout in there. A buddy's kid caught a five pound laker there that spring. In the Community Fishing booklet available from the Dwr it also lists black bullheads as a possible catch. Also states no boating or floating.

Rainbows, brookies, channels, large mouth bass, tiny blue gills, and of corse gold fish. I also saw a dead sucker that was about 5 pounds today. Dam them 5 gallon bucket biologists!

They were brookies. I've seen enough of them to know what they are. My uncle caught 2 of them, and kept them with my cousin. They are the typical, bright brookies you catch up in Idaho, on the big lost river.

That is what the guys from Egan fish hatchery told me that they were brook trout .
Here is a pic of the truck and trailer they were in . I miss the dumping because I left my camera in the truck .

. I'm not a trout fisherman so really don't know what it was. It was about 15" long and had a large kinda long mouth. I'm guessing a brookie, hee hee. I was using a 2" tube jig bouncing off the bottom.
