Exclamation
Ok so today I picked the worst day on the whoe calendar to see if the perch would still bite. This is what happened. I dont think you can pick a bad day at rockport. I think everyday can be productive. So this was the first point we pulled up on. I took a picture of the 13 feet cloud of Perch. We anchored out on the spot lock. Then commenced to pound the perch. Remember they have to be 101/2 inches to go into my livewell or bucket. Most productive was an unpainted led head jig. With a glow body gazilla. Man I'll be Sad when I run out of my maniac stash. I wish some body would buy them molds and get rich. Go get em boys. They are there for the taking.

Another great report Glenn, thanks for posting it. How long are those glow gazilla, if you don't mind me asking? I have some glow manic cutters, I'm wonder if that would work.

The gazillas are almost 11/4 inch. The 11/2 inch cutters might work ok. Good Luck. Glen

Here is the orange glow. It was the most productive today. Looks like she is about 11/4 inches in length. I like to throw on a quarter by inch long Perch meat and jig it off the bottom. Good Luck Glen

I thought I would share with one more thing. I thought I would share my favorite recipe for cooking Perch. Could be your families favorite LOL Wink

Panko Perch

6 cups Panko
2 tsp season salt
2 tsp garlic salt
2 tsp onion salt
1 tsp pepper

(The above salts are best if they are real salt brand)
This will cook about 3 pounds of filets.
Mix this together in a gallon zip lock bag

Egg Mix
2 eggs
2 tsp Jalapeno tabasco sauce
mix well in a boiwl

Flour in a bowl

We cook these fillets over medium heat in a shallow frying pan in virgin coconut oil.
We dip a wet perch fillet in flour then in egg mix then in panko mix.
Then cook till golden brown on both sides.

Did you go Saturday? I was there spotting them at the damn all over but just didn't have much luck (caught 1 and had a few bites) and it seemed everyone I talked to also weren't getting many hits. I spoke with a group of spearfisherman who said all the perch they opened up had empty stomachs too.

I did not I fished Friday and then again today. I never fish at the dam because the bottom is too radical of depths. I like to fish the flats. If you come back and fish in 32 to 35 feet of water anywhere it's flat I've had better success. So I'm talking about going to the boat ramp and going left instead of right. Then find that depth. Everyday we have gone the Perch are coughing up 1 inch perch minnows. Thats why I have give everybody the tip to cut your perch minnow in 1 inch by 1/4 inch strips. Its what they are gorging themselves on. I do a glow orange gazilla because thats what I have all my faith in. I have a stash of them. I took a picture of my fish finder just to show you what was coming thru every few minutes. So what this shows on the picture if you are not familiar with it, I'm in 33 feet of water. Half of it is solid fish. Just so you know I have an Ipilot the anchor lock is second to none for Perch Fishing. We will stay for a half a day on one spot. We just let the perch roam around us. Try this new way and let me know how you do. Enjoy Glen

Yes that recipe is kick A$$. It's a lot of work but it's worth it. Here is my tarter sauce recipe. But I have named it the Tame sauce. It was a secret family recipe for 30 years and then I got a hold of it lol life is to short not to share. Now everybody will wish they read this message cause it has the recipe. Let me know how you enjoy that bad boy. Glen.

Tame Sauce
1 jar mayo
1 small onion finely chopped
2 tsp Lemon Juice
2 tsp sweet relish mix well. Store in Mayo jar.
