Did you end up getting out there again over the weekend, if so, how did you do?
Sorry for the delayed reply! Yes, we made it over there a week later. Ended up getting a few limits of eyes in the 13 to 16 inch range as well as one nice perch and a few rainbows (2 of which were 19 inches). Had to move around a bit more than we did last week but did have fairly consistent action all day. All of the same tactics as last week worked again with most coming on the bouncer/crawler rigs. You did good, if you don't mind me asking, what colors blades were you using on your crawler rigs.

Got the neighbors grandson out this morning and had a great day, he caught most of the fish today, great to see him so excited.

Looks like your neighbors grandson, had a good day, were you trolling or jigging? How long was that bow he was holding?

Got up to the lake today, fishing was pretty slow, only a few bites and caught one small trout, lake is still closed to boats.

Is it AIS associated?

Unless something has changed, Deep Creek Reservoir, near Malad was closed to boating/floating for the same reason.

Hmmm, I hadn't heard about that, don't think Murtaugh, Salmon Falls or Roseworth are closed this time.

Good to hear you got out and got a least one. How long ago did they close it to boats?

Is Twin Falls upstream from Oakley?

No, it's downstream, most reservoirs around here are privately owned by canal companies and most everyone is a different canal company, so I'm guessing they're looking at treatment costs if mussels were to get into those reservoirs, most of the canal companies are small and probably can't afford to treat for mussels, kinda why I'm surprised more in this area aren't closed again.

OK, got ya. So they are worried someone might put a boat in Oakley, that was in Twin Falls before because I don't believe the mussels can swim up stream.

Yes, even if they could swim upstream I don't think there's a viable waterway from the river up to the lake, so any contamination would have to be from a boat.

Heard from a very reliable source that the reservoir will probably not open to watercraft this year, so if planning a trip this way I wouldn't put it on a list, I'll update if I hear anything else.

That's too bad, guess that limits you and others to shore fishing it this year, bummer. Thanks for the info Lyle.

The reservoir is open for watercraft, have fun and good luck if you hit it up.
