Willard catfish
#1
Took the kids and the dog out of the house to the north marina at Willard.
This was Sunday.
Tried the channel on the south side but no bites there so we moved to the day use areas so the kids had more room to run around and dig up bottle caps with the metal detector.
That was a good move!
The poles bent a few times and it was awesome to feel the first catfish of 2025. It was also awesome to watch the kids fight them in to shore.
We kept the two we caught. I did have the measuring tape and one was 24” the other 23”

Nothing fancy for bait. Just a slip sinker, swivel, and a circle hook with a large whole night crawler.

Great photos. Txs for sharing.
Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew

Those are the average sized cats at Willard anymore and they put up a great fight. Your kids look happy with their catch. What king of bait were you using?
