That's good news, I thought it must be open but I had not heard anyone confirmed it yet. This hot weather is really taking the ice off the lakes, thanks for the info. WH2

As of Friday and Saturday the whole north end of the lake is open water. The remaining ice is just slush. We put a boat in Friday evening and again Saturday afternoon. On Saturday we watched an aluminum boat plow through the ice all the way along the edge of the west side.
As far as fishing goes it sucked. We caught one rainbow on Friday while trolling and then one on Saturday. On Saturday's fish we stopped trolling and sat by the west shore in the edge of the slush. I threw out a white foxie jig with a worm to about three feet from the edge and slam, pulled in a nice rainbow. That was the only fish on Saturday. While we were driving home I watched several fish swimming along the open ice edges on the east side. There was only a couple of feet of open water on the east edge where I was seeing fish but they were rising to the surface and I think that's where all the hungry fish are.

Well. It kinda depends on the time of year at deer creek. alot of then run up the provo to spawn but still more spawn along the shore lines. there will be a bigger school around the provo intrance but with the water being so low they will be harder to locate. find the depest spot out from the intrance about 15 feet to 20 is best. try drifting a lindy rig with nightcrawler around that area. also try working the west bank with jigs or rapalas up close to the shore.
The provo intrance was the best until jordanelle came along, now the water coming in is alot colder so the fish hold out in deeper water and make they'er run at night. after the spawn is over troll the big flats with either lindy rigs, bottom bouncers, or deep diving rapals. when you find some fish drop an anchor and cast jigs around where you caught them at. hope this helps, later chuck
