Dubobs Fish stew is a winner!! & Willard today
#1
[Image: IMG-9744.jpg]

After another day on the Willard pond today. Cold windy rainy start. We wore full rain gear beanie and gloves!! Last trip 3 days ago it was 100 degrees!! That’s Utah weather!! The fish didn’t mind 12 eyes 4 wipers 2 perch 2 cats! With beautiful weather to finish and a rainbow in morning! Now I had some wipers and wanted to try the fish stew that Bob recommended.
I pretty much followed the recipe and I’m
Sure it will be great as written. I like to cook and I often use recipes as guideline, then tweak as I go.
I used sweet potatoes, yellow onion, some zucchini and bok choy cause I had them handy!
I also used 2/3 my Crawdad fish stock I make and 1/3 chicken stock. A dash of lemon pepper and old bay as well as spices in recipe. I followed the recipe times and procedures in my Instapot as written. I used wiper and catfish for the texture and both held together well and were super tasty!!
Served it with a toasty piece of sourdough bread ( I actually had two?) it was excellent!
My wife loved it , it will be a regular for a nice change of pace for sure! Super healthy and very tasty!
Thanks Bob for the idea!!
Try it you will like it !!!!
Here are some pictures!

Great report and recipe look too, thanks for sharing both. I got out to the store and bought the ingredients yesterday, except for the garlic infused olive oil, couldn't find that, so hopefully regular olive oil will work, I might have some garlic cloves  i can mix in, then it's just a matter of catching some fresh fish. Nice catch on the rainbow too.

Did you use cranks or harnesses or something else? Speed? Thanks.

This last trip about 50/50. Tried about 8 colors got them on only 2 and not on the color that has worked last 3 trips? The Day started darker overcast rainy choppy but ended calm and sunny. Some areas the water was more turbid from the big winds the day before. Best were cranks that run 16- plus, I was long lining no weight on cranks, used snap weights on crawler rigs. At the end I put out my favorite wiper lipless and never caught a wiper, but caught a walleye! Speed 2.0 to 2.4. That lure I guessing runs maybe 10 feet deep go figure. Earlier this season I caught a bunch of walleye on it but lately deeper runners have been much more consistent .

I didn’t have garlic infused on hand so I stirred in a healthy amount, about a couple cloves/ minced garlic into the olive oil and stirred it as I preheated it. It will work fine for you.

OK, I have minced garlic, that should be easy, thanks Pat
