She is a hard working girl but that was a major engine rebuild this spring and now a tranny and i do the maintenance religiously.

I had that same thing happen to me at Porcupine a few years ago and I thought it was expensive then. Hope you don't have to win the Lottery to fix it.

I have owned a lot of makes and models. My two favorites.
1969 f250 highboy. Mostly for sentimental reasons as it was my first truck and the one i took my bride out in on our first dates. My only issue was the need to carry cans of gas along.
And my red toyota extra cab. I dont remember the year but that thing just ran and ran and I loved it in the hills. Many a grand adventure including 200 mile traplines in Wyoming. But did not take to long with kids showing up to out grow it.
My least favorite was a dodge durango and for some odd reason I still have that tuna boat. Keep it around so my boys can loan it when there rides break down.
Oh and since I have not done anything as a moderator in a long time, I moderated my own post and moved it the off topic board as we are talking trucks more than fishing which is not such a bad thing. I like talking truck

Been in that situation with my current truck, the tranny crapped out at 83K miles. Its a good time now to build your own beefy tranny, at the time I did there was not a big difference in pricing with a replaceable stock & a beefed up trans. If your going to continue to tow I suggest this be done. Another thing I don't do is tow in overdrive, a lot will tell you that they use overdrive and that is their prerogative, downhill or some flat land driving is ok. Monitoring tranny temp tells the story.

My biggest issue towing is pretty easy to see...I bought this current 27ft RV when I owned an f350 ranch truck and my f150 run around. The f350 never knew it had a RV behind it. I sold my my f350 to my brother planning to upgrade the f150. Then I took up teaching school and no upgrades were possible. This RV is right at the max towing of the f150. It does it, actually pretty well...that is until the tranny says enough is enough...
Decisions....Decisions
Love the truck
Love the RV
Can't afford a f350 right now.
Told my wife we were gona go back to a tent and enjoy a simpler life
