Hey folks, If you could take one dream fishing trip within the next year ... Where would it be?
Think about the question ... Be realistic ...
For me ... El Salto Lake ... Mexico.
Your turn ...
Ready, Set ... Go.

Oh yeah! The Slave,, Great choice!!!!
I was there so many moons ago with an uncle I barely recall what the place looks like, I was just a teener. We flew in (Unc's float plane) he had a resort on Lake of the Woods at the time (now retired).
What I recall most is days in the boat, and what seems like days in the plane! But I'd go back in a heart beat if he'd fly out and pick me up!

Alaska all the way but that won't happen for awhile. Another 2 weeks of backpacking in Boulder but all the big fish are biting all day and night. Non-stop action for 5+ pound brookies.

I'm taking it the last week of July. 2 trips out of Bandon Oregon for giant Kings and Lings on a private boat captained by good old kenny and his deck hand brent, and one out of Depoe Bay to Pacific city for lings, bass and giant cabazon. And, 2 weeks to just sit on a dock in the Yaquina bay in Newport, catching Ling Cod, surf perch, sea bass, cabazon, salmon, halibut... It just goes on and on! Its my favorite trip of the year, hands down!!! Plus, all the dungeness crab you could ever eat.

Tough choices. Sounds like these guys watch the same fishing shows I do. Everyone has a great dream trip. Mexico, Canada, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Scotland,... Great choices one and all.
For me, I would have to say either Alaska or Cabo. I just can't make up my mind.

I have had some great trips up in NG Canada... Nothing like catching samon and speckled. You can also be out in parts of the river that you swear have never been fished when you are pulling up 27" browns on a small tube jig ever other cast.

Gotta agree with the "kid" on this one. Fishing for lings and salmon in Northern Cal and Southern Oregon and setting pods out for those dungeoness crabs. Same fish, same ocean, just slightly different location from were he's going..

At this point, I would take a trip to Utah Lake for more than 2 hours. My dream trip would be bone fishing with the flyrod in the Bahamas. I get a thumbs-up from the Mrs. with that one too. She's going to hang out on the beach while I play in the water.
On the more realistic side, I'm going to Pelican Lake this May. Yahoo!

I THINK I GO EVERY WEEKEND WITH MY FAMILY TO THE GORGE...POSSIBLE BIG FISH, LOTS OF FISH TO CHOOSE FROM, AND FUN FOR MY DAUGHTER FISHING TOO...I DONT THINK SHE WOULD ENJOY HAULING UP A 40+ LAKER...SHE ISNT THAT BIG....SO I THINK MY DREAM FISHING DESTINATION IS WHERE SHE HAS AS MUCH FUN CATHING FISH AS I HAVE WATCHING HER CATCH FISH.....
BUT IF I HAD TO GO WITH MY "BUDDIES" ON A GUY FISHING OUTING....EL SALTO...JUST FOR NUMBERS AND QUALITY OF BASS THAT EXPLODE ON THE SURFACE...IN THE MORNING....THEN IN THE AFTERNOON WE WOULD GO DEEP SEA FISHING FOR MARLIN, SWORDFISH, SAILFISH, SHARKS, WHATEVER WE COULD GET A HOOK INTO TARPIN...ANYTHING WE COULD CATCH IN THAT AREA...I DONT KNOW WHAT IS OUT THERE BUT WE WOULD SURE AS HELL FIND OUT.
LATERS,
