went to redmond over the weekend and had a good time!! no pike had 3 on but could not keep them hooked! my boy was haveing fun catching the carp and cat's on a worm..tell he let a carp take the pole right out of his hands and into the water it went never to be seen again.. lol.. took the tube out over to the springs and hit 3 LMB in the 1 to 2 lbs range on a white spinner bait.. the fishing was ok the wether was crapy but we all had a good time!!

Thanks for the report Fuzzyfisher, do you think the catching for the pike will improve in the next couple of months? Were you using minnows for the pike? WH2

no i think the pike fishing is just about over maybe 2 or 3 weeks.. then in september it will start up again.. for some reson at redmond they do not hit very good after the water get over 60.. but the cats, carp and bass can be good fishing when it's warmer there..

well catman i heard from a guy that was fishing by me that he seen a kid catch a 6 lbs cat out of there the other day(about a week ago) and in the summer of years gone bye i caught some that would go up 8 lbs..but nothing like the cats in the yuba or gunson res..the Sever river has some nice cats in it to.. talked to a game warden that was involved in the gillneting there at yuba and he said that no cats or walleyes were in the nets.. but he did see 2 northen pike one was in his words "a very big one" the other was just over 20"..but most the cat's in Redmond are small dont know if they realy have much to eat in there with the pike and bass eating every thing in sight..
i'm planing on fishing it this summer at night just to see if there are any bigger cat's in there tho..
hope that helps dude..
