I was in St. George last week and fished Quail Creek and Sand Hollow on Wednesday. The wind was absolutely terrible, but I decided to fight it in my float tube. I hit Quail Creek from about 1:30 pm. to 3:30 p.m. I fished with a black wooly bugger and a damsel. I caught 3 rainbow and 2 largemouth, and had about a half a dozen more bites. I then went to Sand Hollow and fished for 2 hours and caught 8 largemouth, all on the damsel. It was tough fishing in the wind, but worth getting out.

The damsel and scud are my "goto" lake patterns. Congrats! Were you on top or using a sinking line?

I was using a sinking line. It was a slow sinking line (I always forget the classification), but I was never more than about 10 feet deep.

Sounds like a sink rate 1 or 2. Those sure cast differently than floating lines. Congrats again on a successful outing!
