#1
I HAVE HEARD ABOUT JIGGING FOR MACS. WHAT DO I USE TO GET ONE OF THOSE BAD BOYS? WHAT KIND OF JIG? WHAT SIZE? WHAT DEPTH...I HAVE A FISHING BOAT I JUST BOUGHT, WILL TAKE IT TO THE GORGE THIS SUMMER TO FOLLOW AROUND THE INLAWS ON THIER 28 FOOT CRUISER....WANT A BIIIIGG FISH....TO BREAK IN THE NEW 14 FOOT ALUMINUM BOAT....ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I DO NOT HAVE DOWN RIGGERS, YET, BUT I THINK IF I AM JUST JIGGING I DONT NEED THEM RIGHT? I WILL GET A FINDER, HAVE ONE LINED UP FROM A FELLOW BFT'ER NEED TO GO GET IT SOON.

BUT I WANT SOME OF THOSE HUGE LAKERS/MACS...I WILL EVEN C&R EM AFTER A FEW PICS...BUT MAN IT WOULD BE GREAT TO JUSTIFY ALL THIS FISHING GEAR TO THE FAMILY....THEY THINK IM CRAZY..[crazy] I PROBALY AM THOUGH. LOL

LATERS, AND THANKS

There's a whole batch of info in the archived Flaming Gorge fishing reports. I like 4"-6" or 7" Tora tube jigs fished on one-half to one and one-half ounce Owner Ultra saltwater jigheads. You can order them through Cabelas.

Whatever you do, get the best fish locator/graph you can afford. Personally, I like a liquid crystal graph as opposed to a flasher. You will really appreciate the high resolution in separating fish echos from the bottom and from each other. I cannot overstate the importance of getting a high quality graph and learning to use it. You will see most of your fish from 75-120 feet deep.

Hope this helps some.

Read DoninDenver's signature line about the gene pool life guards, I think that's what you're referring to when you are missign something.

It doesn't explain it all, but gives a great place to start.
