Fished scofield this weekend for the first time. Only caught about 6 trout, rainbows and a few cutts. One cutt was 18 1/4 inches, not a bad fish for my first trip out there. Hopefully I'll get back out there soon just a long drive from hill and my 5.3 litter chevy sucks the gas in the high altitude. Anyways good fishing, Matt

[cool]Sounds like a good time, mattscru. I think I might head up there on Tuesday (taking my birthday off for a little fishin'). What was working for you, and what part of the lake were you on?

caught most of them off nightcrawlers on a bubble. A few off shiners, a couple guys were spraying wd-40 on nightcrawlers and they were tearing em up. Not to sure on the legality of that in utah. I fished on the back side of the lake past the town of scofield. Good luck if you go out there, Matt

I have never used WD-40 as an attractant, but I want to know who told you that you would be fined if you were caught using it? The proc. states that chemical attarctants can be used in all areas allowing bait. It obviously can't be good for the environment, but I want to know exactly who said you would be fined?

the laws of pollution. attractants even chemical derived ones...are biodegradable, most are water soluble, WD-40 as a petroleum product does not classify as an attractant, it in the fuel/lubrication section there for its use applied directly to lures or bait make it an unlawful activity and polutting the land, spray a bit on water, it will spread like gasoline as it is made of the same stuff basically..petroleum. that is why its illegal.
But on the other side of that, I have never seen a fish cop question why a can of DW-40 was along for the ride on any size boat that had a motor. I have seen them question it on a toon of a guy I didnt stick around to see teh outcome, but the cop was holding the can up asking whats this for....he had no oars, no motor, just him and his finns......you decide. but I have heard alot more about it working great then I have ever heard of getting a ticket for using it.
I think it boils to common sense...you decide your ethics and apply them where needed for you. I have been irritated soo many times when somone thinks I have been too much.....and they push it over and over....kinda like well I wont go there....to each their own. amen.

That makes sense, I was just wondering where the F&G drew the line separating attactants from pollutants.
