The only way to get current stocking info is call the DWR.

Can you tell from that report what kind of fish were stocked?

Thanks for the info. I have the 2003 report. I was told by a person that they stocked Farmington pond with a bunch of channel cats. I think it is a bunch of whoey. Never caught a cat out of there. To small and to cold I think for the kitties.

On this thread hedgesd explained the coding.

Icefool I heard that also, so I went to try it but only caught rainbows (wich were still fun) a DWR guy came over and checked my liscence and asked if I had caught any catfish, I told him no and he said that they did stock them in there, but so far I've been there three times since then and haven't caught a catfish so if they did they aren't easy to catch.

Hey thanks Hoobie. I still can't believe they put them in there. I have caught suckers out of there though.

A fellow employee of mine claimed that he watched a guy catch several catfish out of there last year. He has fished very little, so not sure if in fact that they were catfish.

The DWR stocks cats in all the SL/Davis urban fisheries during the summer. (Or so they have told me but correct me if I'm wrong.) They usually start sometime in May. I've caught them at other ponds. I seem to do best with colored mini marshmallows on the bottom - pink and orange. Can't speak for Farmington but its worth trying sometime. It may not have been stocked yet due to the cooler weather.

In reviewing the data, referenced above, during 2003 the UDWR planted rainbow trout, a few larger cutthroat, and a few "BK". Anyone know what BK stands for? In Bountiful Lake they planted lots of "BHCH" which I would guess is channel catfish.

If I remember, BKOW is Brook Trout.
CTBL = Cutthroat - Bear Lake
CTBLSB = Cutthroat - Bear Lake/Strawberry
BSLM = Bass - Large Mouth
BSSM = Bass - Small Mouth
KSSB = Kokanee Salmon - Strawberry
RTFD = Rainbow Trout - Fully Developed?
CTBVMM = Cutthroat - Beaver Mountain?
BNSC = Brown - ?

Yes, I'm guessing on some of these. When I first started reading this a couple of weeks ago, I guessed the last letters were for a hatchery, but now I think it is strain. I will see if I can get a key from DWR and post it.

I'm not sure on the rest, but I have seen CTBVMM referenced in other locations to mean "Cuthroat, Bonneville, Manning Meadow" Of course meaning they were hatched form Manning Meadow Res. on Monroe Mountain.

It's interesting how the DWR will post coded reports like this and then NOT provide the key!

Thanks Ruger. That would make a lot more sense for BVMM. I put in a call to Ed Johnson out here in the Vernal DWR. I'll post the key if he sends it along.

He probably won't -- rumor has it that he isn't willing to help out much (LOL).

It would be nice if they would update that for this year.
