Hey Troal,
I don't recall reading your Scofield report? Did you catch any fish? [signature]

Nope did not land any fish on the bank, had a couple of bites but nothing took the bait, The moast memorable thing was the mosqito looking flies that just about flew away with us, talk about feeling out numberd, My frend stuck with worm and a mellow, I tried everything in the box but we could'nt buy a bite. The picture was the best thing, so I just posted it, Pluss I wanted to figure out how to do that (in case I do catch a fish) The little fish near the bank were on a feeding frenzie on those flies and I even tried a fly I had that resembled them to no avail. Next time we will knock em dead.

Don't feel too bad about not catching anything. I have been there on those days when the gnats are so thick you feel like jumping in the water to avoid them. Every time I have fished there and the gnats have been thick I have either been skunked or not caught very much. I have been there on days early in the morning and had a great morning fishing until it warms up enough and the gnats go crazy. When that happened the fish just absolutely stopped. Far and away my best time to fish Scofield is early, early, early, in the mornings.
I'm glad to hear that there are more people out here that like to fish Scofield. I keep hearing from the trout haters that Scofield sucks blah, blah, blah. I love the setting, fishing, and scenery of Scofield. Keep your updates coming and when I get up there again I will put up my report. [signature] |
