My buddy Omar and I had a bass filled weekend. Two different lakes in So. Utah. Not gonna tell the DWR where. They seem to follow us around and screw up any lake where we've been doing well. BTW I'm the one with the big greener. They are both not widely known for their bass fishing, but if you know your So. Ut lakes this should be an easy quiz!

The first one is definately an Otter Creek Smallie. And the second picture is a little hard to tell but if I remember right you are from S.P. county so probably between there and Otter Creek so my guess is Redmond.

I figured that smallie pic. was a little too obvious! No reports from the Boulder yet. Had some friends go over on Thousand Lakes and they did really well. Was sworn to secrecy on which lake though. Not very many lakes over there, so shouldn't be too tough to figure out. If the DWR asks about the bass, tell em they came out of Scipio lake and Piute. HE HE

brookieboy, i think the DWR is way ahead of you...not behind. The DWR does electroshocking for smallmouth on both Piute and Otter Creek...they know what is there (or, in the case of Piute what isn't). And, by the way, if you were to tell the DWR that you caught the largemouth at Scipio Lake, they would probably just laugh at you.

The first picture is the otter creek. The smallmouth were put in after the last treatment to offer the sportsman another fishing oppurtunity. There are two less obvious reasons for the dwr introducing this new species. The otter creek is one of the waters that whirling disease could destroy as a trout fishery. The second one is trying to find an answer to the chub population that has the tendency to take the lake over. If the smallies could keep the chubs from overpopulating then you could see some mighty fine rainbows and no more boom and bust between rotenone treatments. The same thing was done at the piute recently.
