The river was stocked with Rainbows not long ago. They are small, but catchable. The Browns are usually doing good to great this time of year. I have fly fished up there, but have stuck to spin-fishing for the last few years. I use broken-back (jointed) Rapalas in Rainbow and Brown patterns in the j-9, j-11, j-13 sizes. With this cold front, I would down size to a j-5 or j-7. I have also done well using tube jigs. White, Rainbow, Watermelon, Brown are the usual colors. Just make sure that the tubes you get are just silicone. NO scents or flavors! The patrols should be out in force and if you have any kind of "bait" with you, they will ticket you and can take all of your gear including your vehicle. When they say artificial only, they mean it.
Good luck up there and on the Gorge. Just stay in any bay for the bows up there. They should still be biting, even with the storm. Make sure to let us know how you do. [signature]

Was up there the past 2 weekends fly fishing. Use a peach glo bug with a small red, green or black midge dropper, a Black Zebra tungsten midge size 20 works very well, in the gravelly rifle areas and you should do very well. I did.
