Went out to the Green for a couple of days hoping for at least some Cicada action. I was very encouraged when my buddy cast to the first fish we came to along the bank and the fish took his cicada fly but that fish must have been a freak because we only caught a few fish on dries of any kind and we didn't see or hear a single Cicada.
We did best on zebra midges and woolly buggers. Most of the fish are looking down picking up nymphs right off the bottom.
I haven't been to the Green for a while but I could not believe the number of drift boats on the river! there were more boats than bank fishermen. I floated in my kick boat and most of the morning I was trying to stay out of the way of people casting . I did best by pulling off in little spots that the boats couldn't get to. I was told that things were worse the day before but the guides were told to send some people down to the B section because they were over using their permit. Despite the crowd the fishing was not bad. Didn't catch any really big fish but most were in good condition and fought hard.
