Moon Lake
#1
Did anyone fish moon lake over Memorial Day? I am going there Thursday and Friday and was wondering what is working.

What is the easiest way to get to Moon Lake from Layton?

I was out there this weekend. I wish I could give you a better report on fishing, but the wind blew us off this past weekend.

Moon Lake on most Memorial weekends is usually going over the spillway. This year it is very LOW!!! But the majority of the runoff is still up in the high mountains due to the cooler spring we have had. we tried to rent a boat from the lodge at moon lake (www.moonlakeresort.com) but the wind was so bad, they wouldnt let us go out and I didnt want to go out. But after talking to them, they say the action has been excellent this year. Saying silver spoons have been the thing, and definitely jakes lures. Said the Kokes in Moon Lake are now averaging 14-16 inches rather than the dinky 12 in the past. THe DWR told the people at the lodge dont be surprised to see 20 + lb splake come out of there this year. There is reports that large bows have been coming out of there, definitely on the east side by the dam.

I love moon lake cause there is so many things you could catch, browns, bows, brookies, splake, grayling, kokes, whitefish. There is tons of sandy beaches right now, definitely with it being low. I have somemore information is you would like send me a PM!!!

Getting to Moon Lake??? I live in SLC so I usually take I-80 to I-40 in silver creek junction then take that all the way to duchesne, in the middle of duchesne there is a sign that says altamont and moon lake, take that road and it is about 25 mile NE from Duchesne, the signs will lead you the right way

I have never been to moon lake and was wondering if you can launch boats there, or do you need to rent them from the store.
