lower Provo River report (6/15/04)
#1
Decided to skip class this morning and go catch me a few white bass. Got down there around 9 and fished for about an hour. Took awhile to find them but when I did I hooked 6 and landed 5 before I had to leave. Used a size 00 green panther martin spinner. Didn't bring any tackle box with me, so I didn't have any jigs. I could've done better with some small curly tail jigs I think. They are hard to find, and are sitting on the very bottom in the deeper holes. I had to let my spinner rest on bottom before I started reeling to get their attention. If I just dragged it over the top of them they completely ignored it. It was good to get out and get a few whities. All were average sized approximately 9 to 12 inches long. The spawn should be over in a few days and then they'll head back down to the lake.
