Anyone been to Echo recently? I am planning a trip there this weekend. Taking some friends who haven't even bought a lic. in years. They got tired of me feeding them fish I caught, so they broke down and bought their own lic. Now they want to make their first trip out for the year. So anyone whos fished Echo recently I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks,
Road

I fished there on saturday morning out of my tube. Fished from the first pulloff by the dam, towards the dam. The fish were lethargic and had to downsize to a small ggreen rub with 1/16th oz head. Tipped the grub with a little worm to entice them. I caught about a dozen mostly small smallmouth with a 2lber+ thrown in for fun. The big fish was a blast on an ultralight. The warm weather should help a lot. Try some in line spinners if the fish are more active. The smallmouth were suspending at 15-16 ft. in 20 ft. of water. Good Luck!
P.S. All of the people that were trolling for trout were having no luck whatsover. I think the recent storm front had a negative effect on the fishing. Should be better by the weekend.

Haven't been to Echo since early last year, would like to get back over there. Have been going to East Canyon this year, while it has slowed down, still catching a nice limit of 14"-18" rainbows using both pop gear with silver spoon & worm and a variiety of spinners. Good luck

Went to Echo just today and caught smallie after smallie on just about any color curly tail jig. They were all pretty small (8-15 inches) Reeled veeerrrry slow and stopped on occasion. They usually bit on the stop/fall. Also hooked a couple perch. Fished on the east side, second pull off.
