Echo catfish
#1
I think I read a post from someone who catfishes Echo. I guess I didn't realize there are catfish in there. Are they channels? Can anyone give me some information on catfishing this lake? Where to go on the reservoir (I don't have a boat)? Baits, time of year, etc. thanks.

Yes they are channel cats. I haven't seen any mudds. I haven't targeted the cats but seem to get them anyway. I got some last year on rainbow powerbait. My son got some on worms that he was floating down all natural for the bass. The ones we got were pretty nice we didn't measure or weigh them because we catch and release.

I tried it once last year, draggin chicken livers around in my tube. My theory was that near the inlet would be good, since channel cats like some current. i only had one bite and i missed it, so it's kind of a sorry report. I'd like to get back up there and try it again one of these days.
