Are there any areas at Pineview where you can be successful for smallmouth. What lures/baits work the best?

Sorry, I meant successful from shore. Are there some accessible areas from shore where you can get into some smallmouths

If anyone would ever want to teach a newbie some bass techniques I would be more than willing to for gas and boat fees and things like that.

anywhere along the narrows you will find bass there are several pullouts where you can park and walk to the water

There quite of few places to catch Smallies, on the other side of the beach. My best bait for them is a three to 4 four inch curly tail grub. Just get it as close to the bottom as you dare and bump it back. They are also in the willows if you can stay out of the snags.
