Pelican Bay (utah lake) 6/24 AM
#1
Stopped by pelican bay again this morning. Not quite as good as Weds. morning but I didn't get skunked. I caught 1 channel 22" 4 lbs and 2 mud cats. Had several good hits. Went home when I ran out of worms. Tried some stink bait for a couple of cast but not a bite. Worms have been the ticket. Hope fishing stays this good for the kids on Sat.

[cool]Nice report, wiggy. At least you got a nice 22 incher. THat would make a nice little fish fry for dinner. I can't wait to hit Lincoln Beach on Saturday. Good luck out there with the kids.

My son and I fished Pelican Bay from 8:30 till midnight 6/24. I caught two channel cats 19 and 21 inches. In addition we each caught about 6-8 mud cats. We were using shrimp and night crawlers. Bugs were incredibly thick. Watched two boats run into each other just before dark. Only three boats in sight on the whole lake, and these two have to run over each other. Luckily no one was hurt and the boats suffer much from the incident either. Came home and filleted the channels. Big Thanks to TubeDude for the just in time tutorial on processing catfish!

Pelican bay is on the west side of the lake about 1-2 miles past the saratoga boat club. So far you don't have to pay and you can fish all night (no gates to be locked). I'm sure that could change at anytime though. If you happen to go there bring an extra garbage bag though. There is lots of trash left at this spot. If you are anything like me I can't stand to fish around a lot of trash so I'll fill a bag with what is around the area I'm sitting. Good luck if you go out . I really like this spot.
