Bear River (Cache County) 6/26/04

I fished a section of the Bear River in Trenton to day with my son Jaren. We fish for a couple of hours and caught mostly small channel cats (12" or less) we caught 12-15 cats and 3 carp. This is a photo of my son with one of the larger ones.

hey not a bad fish for the bear river i have fished there only 2 and caught some carp and a couple catfish about that size well congrats

Not a bad day on the bear...I had been wondering how it was fishing this year. Thanks for the report.

Considering it was the middle of the afternoon I felt like we had a productive day. We were using worm and started fishing about 2:30 PM until about 5:00 PM.

nice little fish. the area looks like a place just up river from my old house in trenton. shot a lot of ducks and geese there as I fished. we would get into crappie sometimes down river a bit. (not far)

We were maybe a mile down stream of the bridge between Trenton and Richmond. Does that sound about right?

yep just the place I was thinking. if you went due west from that spot to the road that takes you to the cheese plant then go a few 100 years south you'll runinto my old house. the house is now gone it was next to the old cement silow next to the road. I would walk down to the river almost every night and fish. an hunted ducks and geese a little more down the rive on some ponds just off the river.(yes public) The biggest cat I got off the river came from under the bridge (11lber) lots of carp also. have got a crappie and a few eyes in there if you find the real slow deep water.(look for were there is a small canal comes in. should be a about 1/4 mile or so from your spot if I remeber right)
