dredging south boat harbor at willard
#1
The outdoor section of the tribune the other day said they are dredging the boat harbor at willard. It said the south harbor is closed for this. Hope they dredge it out good then hit the north harbor.

All they did at the North marina was dredge the channel from the launch area. The marina is still very shallow with a big sand bar between the launch and the marina. It is good news that they are dredging the south marina. I thought they were dredging the channel again so they could draw more water out of the bay. WH2

Wouldn't it be cool if they dredjed out the North marina in such a way that the closer to the center of the marina you got, the deeper the water was? Pretty novel idea hu. The engineers would wear out their slid rules figuring out how to do that! Sorry, I'm just in a sarcastic mood this morning.

That would be awesome, then it could be fished during the winter. When I was out there this afternoon, the sand bar that BLM got stuck on last year, was out of the water. There were people launching from the south marina today, so they must be done with the dredging or they opened it for the weekend. WH2

What are the fees at willard? Do they charge launching fees for a pontoon?

The price doesn't change because your launching a pontoon, it is still $9.00. Your best bet is to launch at one of the locations that you can drive too, that doesn't require a fee. The North and South marines and the north dike, are the only pay area, if you go to the S/W corner or the west dike, you will be OK. WH2
