Was planing on hitting Lincoln Beach this morning, left Lehi at 5:00 got about halfway there and realized I left the bait in the fridge at home. So by time I got the bait, I decided that it was to late to try and make it to Lincoln Beach. Hit the Jordan instead, by the Main St bridge got there about 6:30 my daughter caught the first fish with in 15 min a 11" channel, I caught the next to 1 channel and a really small mud, my son caught one more channel before we left around 8:30. All channels were about the same size.
We made to the marina about 9:00 fished the north dike on the marina side. I had another fish about 5 min after putting my line in the water. We fished until 1:00 then headed home. We ended up catching 10 fish between the 4 of us, had at least 4 throw the hook before we could land them. My oldest daughter had what she called a "monster" snap her line. She wants me to emphasize "MONSTER". All fish caught here were muds and all fish were caught on a shrimp/worm combo. Didn't fish the lake side of the dike to much, my son fished it for about 20 min had one bite. But then got his line tangled up and we had to rerig him and by time we were done he decided he wanted to fish the marina side again.
There was one other angler who had caught about 8 fish mixed channels/muds using worm only, he said he hadn't had any luck with shrimp. He started fishing the docks about noon and by time we left he had caught at least 2 white bass.
It was a great day fishing, my kids had a blast and can't wait to go again. Hopefully we'll be able to make it to Lincoln and catch some real monsters,it will be great to see the look on there faces.
