Hey,
I just wanted to say thank you for the help you offered for cats. I have put a little bit to the test and it payed off. I fished Friday night (25th) and caught a couple of chicken livers. One I caught was 22" and about 4 lbs. It sure tasted great on Monday. Monday I went back out because I hadn't got enough of it. We started about 7:00 and it was hot and heavy for a while, then after dark it shut down. Had a couple of hits but at 10:30 we called it a night. We caught most of them on chicken livers. I have a few questions about them in a minute. I fished the Bear River in Cache Valley near Amalga on some private land. On Monday night we got another about 19 or 20 " and 3 lbs'ish. My dad came with me for a while and threw some flies. He caught a carp and hooked a couple more on his 5 weight. He had a ball.
Now for the questions. I am getting a ton of hits on the chicken livers. Have you got any ideas on how to rig them better so I can hook up more? I'm sure I'm doing it wrong...but it's working mostly. And the carp meat rig...how is the best way to do that? I can't seem to get anything on them. I'm going to find some minnows to use. (dead of course) Thanks for the help and I would gladly accept some more tips. I coupld probably trade a trip or two for some fly fishing in Southern Idaho. Great fish and beautiful scenery.
Thanks for your help!
