Ice fishing is a hoot at night if you can find the fish . I mainly flyfish at night in the summer and fish close to shore in a float tube . This weekend the lights wont be out . Full moon is friday . Fish can be close to the surface sometimes , but can be easy to spook in the dark if you cast over them . Just don't run me over if you are in a boat . I guess I out to get some lights on that tube . Lures can work along with spinners . I use them in rivers and have had luck at night . I think sunrise and sunset are the best times . I haven't tried the berry at night in about 5 years , so I am hoping to try it soon in my tube .

Now you are talking one of my favorite ways to fish Strawberry. Don't know about the kokes, but the cutts and rainbows are very cooperative at night. I like to anchor up near the shoreline (20 feet of water or less, and I usually cast towards the shore) and fish a minnow under a bobber. Purchase the slip bobber style that has a battery in it (they have them at Sportsman's and likely a few other places around town). Make sure that you purchase the slip bobber style, rather than the style that clips onto the line. The minnow doesn't need to be more than about five or six feet under the surface. I have tried an underwater light and had some success with it, but I believe that I would have had even more success had I moved into shallower water. I have caught them all night long and with little or no moon.

I never had much luck at night until about 2 years ago. Then I took my boat out and just drifted it. I tossed out a glow-in-the-dark jig that I had from ice fishing and did VERY well. Give that a try. Add some of that powerbait liquid stuff to it to make it smell more. It seemed to really help.

One other ? - I'll be coming from the south and is the best way through Provo Canyon/ Heber or can I get across thru Springville/Hobble Creek with the boat. My map does not tell me if its paved from Springville.

I live in Springville and I always go up through Provo Canyon. You can get there through Hobble Creek Canyon if you are looking for a good long drive and some dirt roads. From Springville you can get there in just over an hour on average.
