pelican beach
#1
fished pellican beach today. Caught my first Walleye on a storm thunderstick, also caught a channel cat on the same lure. I was suprized that the channel cat hit the lure, I had heard that they would hit artificial lures, I'd just never seen it untill today. It was the first time putting my tube in the water in about 4 years, I have had it about 14-15 years and used it less than a dozen times, it was sure fun but I am now a pretty crispy critter, next time I will use sunblock. My buddy Flip caught two bronzebacks on an inline spinner. Also the bay at the boat launch was too shallow for me to staighten out my legs to kick my fins. I saw a few boats working through the channel with push poles, I can only imagine we don't have much time before there is not enough water to launch a good sized boat.

Thanks for the report . Must be at Willard bay . I caught a cat on a lure this year there . Any size to your fish you caught . I never have float tube that area yet .

My walleye got off as soon as I got him to the tube, I think it was only about 10inches, a good fighter but not enough to get a skillet warmed up for, the Cat was a little bigger maybe 13" but still not enough to eat after you cut off all that head. The bass my buddy caught were not huge either, but still fun to catch.
