I saw some people shore fishing by the walk-in campsites just west of the boat ramp they were catching small perch and some smallmouths. I was fishing from my boat and my buddy miss a real nice LGmouth had to be in the 4lb range in the same area. Use worms for perch for real fast action or small plastics. And larger plastics, spinners and or spinnersbaits for the bass. Have fun! This was at Jordanelle.

Deer Creek: Wallsburg Arm has tons of spots from the shore. Use brown grubs 3". The bass are biting!
Jordanelle: All around the personal watercraft areas. Small spinnerbaits, Brown brubs and texas rigged tubes.
Good Luck!

Deer Creek has some good smallie action in the mornings from the southwest side of the island. Use smoke sparkle senkos wacky rigged with no weight. Doing that I only got snagged once when I was there a couple of weeks ago, and it was pretty good action.
For the family, however, I'd recommend Jordanelle, cause the action will be faster for them at least for perch there.

I was at Rock Cliff last saturday with my family. We caught at least 200 fish. The action was non-stop, all day. Your wife and kids will be ecstatic and you can work around for some larger fish.

Wallsburg Bay is across from the turnoff to Wallsburg town at Deer Creek. Coming from Provo, it's just about 1 mile past the State Park (down the hill), and about 1 mile before the island. A tiny stream enters Deer Creek there. Hope this helps.

The Wallsberg arm is by the turn to Wallsberg, but the parking for is west of the turn. Look for a pull out that has an out house setting at the back of it. It is about in the middle between the main state park and rainbow bay state park. Lots of goos areas from the shore all through there. I usually float that area in the early mornings. The pearch fishing hasn't been too good at Deer Creek as the pearch population is crashing. But you can still get into them. Trout has been doing real well for me, the bass have been hiding or maybe its my tecnique or lack there of. The Nelle is just plain hot right now, Rock Cliff for the family (brings lots of worms) the pearch are feeding heavy. Remember you can keep 50 of those lil buggers so please take some home. Whereever you go have fun and the best of luck to ya. Maybe I'll see ya on the water.

I will (finally) get to try Rock Cliffs Saturday A:M. If you see some dude flailing away in a green tube, that will be me. Say hi if you like. One word of caution to you. If you fish Rock cliffs first and take a limit of perch (or a lot) then fish Deer Creek, the perch limit there is only 10 and you could get ticketed for the jordanelle fish. Same I guess at Utah lake. just something to think about.

Even if they are still in your car? How about if someone from the park signs a paper saying that you caught them there ?I dont think anyone would sign it anyway![sly]

Definitely, it would likely depend on the warden, but by the letter of the law a zealous warden could ring you up if they are found in the car at D.C. In any event, good luck this weekend.

FYI The wardens at Deer Creek are a decent sort. If you have pearch in your car and fish on your stringer you are not going to get a ticket. At the Nelle they have been issuing a receipt even with a yearly pass. I have a floor full of them now. So it will show that you have been to the Nelle making your pearch catch legal. If by chance they don't issue a receipt just ask for one. Hopes this helps.

That is good to know. I had heard during the hardwater season that tickets were issued in just such situations, but maybe that was an unfounded rumor.
