top water lures??
#1
i have a lot of topwater lures for bass fishing. i just wanted to know, how many of you other bass fisherman use these, and how often do you have good success with them. one other question i have is, has anyone ever used them at deer creek, i would like to try this, but i dont know if they would work real well, with how deep the lake is, and how little brush cover there is. i know one of my funnest places to topwater fish is pelican, catching 50 fish on a light action fly rod on top water is a blast. just wondering what your fave top water baits are.

I have done well with topwater on lakes with little cover like Pineview in low water . Just it is best early and late in the day . I wish I had some topwater at Strawberry saturday , because the trout would come up and eat my bobber and did this quite often too . I like buzzbaits , jitterbugs , Spooks . But all of them will work .

The topwater bite at DC can be pretty good actually. Fish still relate to whatever cover is on the structure wether it is weed beds, rock rubble, whatever. Early and late are the most productive usually, but if it is overcast the bite can last all day. It is not uncommon to pull smallies from 15 to 18 feet down to hit a topwater presentation. And they can be a lot shallower early and late. I have had success with buzz baits, poppers, and jump baits at DC depending on the conditions. Nails
