Jordan River(6/27-7/3) & Utah Lake 7/4-5
#1
Well, figured I'd stop in since I had time to. The first time in a while.

Wow. I've been fishing a lot lately! Every night with Jerry and Ronda since the 27th of June. Man o man!

On the Jordan, the fish are nailing cut baits right now. We've been fishing from about 10pm-2am. The cats bite right as soon as we get there. We've been down below 33rd now, since the 45th south is too far of a drive every night. The average night has been 6-10 cats, from 14-20". On the first, we got into them big time. Over the 6 1/2 hours we were there, 17 channels. Jerry got 8 of em, I got 4. Ronda got 5, and the biggest at 28 1/2" and 12 pounds. What a fish! That night they took half a white bass or a big chunk of carp, rigged with a 1/4oz. sliding sinker.

Over the fourth, we went out to Utah lake, at Lincoln Beach. Jer said it was the first springs, or something like that. The channels came to play there, too. When we got there yesterday, Jerry arrowed a fresh carp, and waded our lines WAY out into the lake. I mean, he had on Hodgman waders, the high ones. By the time it was 10, he'd totally flooded them.

Then, they bit and never quit! We came home limited, with 24 channels. The biggest was 26, and most of them were around 18. Jeeze, we released a whole crap load of mudders and a couple channels, too. We had 4 fish break us off, and we had on 18# stren. Not little fish, to say the least.

Great report Radar, you sure have been doing good for cats.
I'm really surprised they are still biting so good at Utah lake. You must have spend a lot of time fileting those fish.

here you go good luck if you go

Directions to Lincoln Beach – Heading south from Provo take the Spanish Fork exit #260, and at the stoplight turn left (south) onto Main Street. Turn right (west) on 400 North, after leaving Spanish Fork 400 North becomes 6400 South. Keep going west until you reach a point where you make a sharp right turn. At this point you have traveled approximately 6.1 miles from when you started on 400 North and you are at 4800 West. After making the sharp right turn, as soon as you can, you want to turn left (west) and you will be on 6300 South. Keep going west and follow the road around a bend north towards the lake. After approximately 2.4 miles, from when you turned onto 6300 South, you will reach the road to Lincoln Beach. The Lincoln Beach boat ramp is down a paved road on your right just as you reach Utah Lake. From the boat ramp on for the next couple miles is the area known as Lincoln Beach. Some of the best fishing from shore is in some springs out in Utah Lake, near the northernmost point of land out into the lake, which is approximately 1/3 mile past the boat ramp.

To get to the first spring, drive down to the boat launch area and then drive past it to the north dike. Just as you start out on the north dike a road takes off of the dike, along the shoreline to the north. Take that road and it takes you right to the spring.

To get to the third spring don't go down to the launch area, but stay on the main road that heads around the mountain. At approximately the point of the mountain you will see a concrete building on the right (north) side of the road and down the hill about 100 feet or so. Park there on the main road (you may get ticketed if you drive off of the main road) and walk down. A spring enters the pool from the southeast and in that area is where you want to fish.
