Muskie in Fishlake??

On the 24th a group of us were diving in Fishlake. We dove a few different spots but mostly the east shore. My friend and I spotted a fish, at first it looked like a Pike but at further investigation I determined it was a Muskie. It was dark green with vertical stripes of a yellowish color. Is this a fluke fish or has the DWR tried to plant these fish in Fishlake at some point in time?

maybe you did see one my guess in no but i wasnt there. The only things that should be in there anr cutthroats and trout. but thats all i know

yellow perch, splake, lake trout, rainbows and browns.

There might be cutts too I'm not sure though. Oh yeah and there are Utah Suckers in there as well. I think Utah Chubs too, although they're in decline.

you very well may have seen one in there, a fellow member of this board reported getting one up to the boat but then it spit the hook, if i remember right he said it really wasnt all that big though.

There has been reports for years of some Muskie migrating from Johnson into Fish Lake. I don't think anybody has ever caught one though.

hey dudes i have seen A musky in fish lake!! last year a buddy and i was trolling the weedline with flatfish and hit a musky..got it right up to the boat before it turned it's head and cut the 20lbs line on my trolling pole.. it was not very big tho only about 16in to 20in long.. cool tho hope they take to the lake and get realy big!! it will make trolling the weedline that much more fun!!

If you ever walk the stream from fishlake to Johnsons, you quickly see why there is Musky in both. While the water temp in Johnsons ( shallow lake) is much more to the liking of Musky's, the northern end of FIshlake has some shallow weedline areas in which Musky have migrated into. I highly doubt you will find too many Musky in the deeper portions of FIshlake, but there is no question Musky could thrive in the shallow portions of Fishlake.
