Rifle Gap Report

Fished R-Gap 1st time ever on sat.,8-7.Boat ramp out of water so stuck it in on dirt.We started out driftin in 15-22' of water and catchin perch and bo's for 2 hrs.Then my bro caught a 13 lb Northern pike on twister\sucker combo.It slowed down for a while then we found the perch in about 15-11' of water.Final tally:15 bobo's,a 13 lb pike,and 70 perch.Left denver @330am and was back @815pm. I love this place!

Great fishing! I'm glad you caught a pike too, because they haven't been there long. Probably from bucket bioligists punishing the cdow and us fish and wildlife from removing pike from the yampa river against the public's will.

I wish they would stop stocking so many rainbows in rifle gap, the walleye population has dwindled to almost none. They don't understand that even stocked, fake trout, eat walleye fry.

The perch are usually nice there!

Too bad you didn't get a chance to hit the colorado around glenwood for a little bit to experience some huge rainbows and browns!
