Strawberry Kokes
#1
I was hoping someone would be willing to give up some pointers on how to fish for kokanee at the berry. I have a little aluminum boat with no down riggers but I do have lead core line rigged up. I like to fish mostly between strawberry bay and renegade point. Thanks, in advance----Licker

They should be easy to get from shore now . Just look for the red fish . Read this post and you will hook some . Jigs , flies , and spoons .

Forget the leadcore line, use diver boards, like the Delta Diver, followed by a flasher, then your rubber snubber, and then your favorite kokanee lure. My favorite is the Apex Kokanee Killer in the watermellon color. I just got back from salmon fishing the Oregon Coast and used the exact same set up, just upsized the Apex, and did well there too. When the kokanees are deeper than 50 feet, there is no substitute for a good downrigger. Good luck at the Berry. I used to have trouble keeping the cuts off long enough to catch a kokanee there.

I'll have to look into some diver boards, thanks for the advice. I have some down riggers unopened in the basement (alot of good they are doing). I'll have to hook em up some day, my boat is kinda little but theres got to be a way to put the riggers on, thanks again, ---Licker

Sounds like alot of fun, I guess I'm just to cheap to buy the clamp base to the riggers I have. I'm thinking new boat some time so I'm not sure how much more I want to throw into this one. Thanks a bunch ---Licker
