lincoln beach 09/15/04

fished lincoln today. Wow was it slow. not even a nibble. I fished jigs (chartreuse and black and chartreuse and white), crank baits, and gitsits, with no takers. I tried all the way along in front of all three springs with no luck at all. One guy I talked to had one walleye and one white bass. I am thinking it will pick up next week,

oh if only that were true. I have been fishing at least once a week all summer and most weeks 2 times a week and in this whole summer this is the only time I have been completely skunked. I was even contemplating snagging some carp, just to say I had caught something. It was a day for my ego,

I know this comment could very well have me banned as a fisherman, but I try to be completely honest when it comes to fishing (other than secret holes or secret lures for me or anyone else, I am great at keeping a secret). I have seen way too many 2 or 3 lb fish that I would be surprised if they tipped the scales at 1 lb. If I am going to get excited to see a 3 lb trout, I want to see a 3 lb trout dang it! Now I don't expect anyone else to be so brutally honest about fishing, The thought boggles the mind and could cause catastrophic results to the entire psyche of the world so I will simply keep this obsession with honesty in fishing to this post. Now let me tell you about the 10 Lb perch I caught last week[]
