Pineview 9/26/2004
#1
Hit Pineview this morning to see if I could hook some fishes . Hooked up on some perch , and bass . from shore . While fishing from shore , Yper and son spotted me and offer a ride on there boat so off I went . Fished mainly looking for bass . Tube jigs seem to be the ticket . Biggest was caught by Yperjr at 14" . most of the rest were 12"er but good fighters . Some of the perch are pushing 7" and it appeared to be quite a few perch there . Nail one 8" largemouth while perch fishing on shore . Hit the Ogden river for a few browns on the way home . Boat ramp will be free in a couple more days is what the host told me . Just have to remove the courtesy dock and they are done for the year . Nice day on the water , with good company .

I fished pineview this morning also. Started the day off great - the Bluffs/Cemetery Point marina is closed so had to drive all the way around to the wonderful port ramp with the yachts and waves. I usually fish in the arm near cemetery pont, today I tried the North arm, didnt get but 2 bumps all morning. I have never been skunked at Pineview - major bummer. I spotted a ton of fish on the finder didnt hook any though.

I think the fish get worn out at night with the moon filling up and when the day breaks they just hang out until later in the day.

Sorry to here you didn't hook up . Most of the bass were caught today up by the narrows . Smaller jigs fished close to shore and I couldn't keep the perch off . I was fishing at the port ramp before I went for a boat ride . I even think I hooked a small crappie but that was before the sun came up and it got off when it came to the surface . Seen a few bass boats show up about 7:00am , maybe a little tourney going today . I think they were trying to put the hurt on them today too . Bite slowed down about 1:00 but they usually turn on good in the afternoon . I was fishing 4" tubes in green pumpkin "Chompers" .

XMAN , would of enjoyed your company up there today . I kinda go on the spur of the moment . The coin toss this morning was for Pineview . LOL

That figures...the one day I dont even consider it. Usuaully can get plenty of action down the arm from cemetery point. The problem today was that there were a heckuva lot of skiers/rec boaters out there. This one boat had the entire arm chopped off - they would make a run and then turn around and come back - couldnt get across the bay in my beast of a boat, I get scared that those guys wont see me, some of them should take some boater education classes.

I saw all the boats working those shorelines, usually that is good for a boatful of 10-13" fish, wouldnt have minded that today.

I took the boys fishing to pineview yesterday. We got alot of perch, they were small but it was good to see them in numbers. We also got a few little bass 3 to 4 inchers. We were fishing from shore and having a good time in our favorite little cove, when in comes two big boats that anchored and then decided we should all listen to his music. I do like the music he was listening to but apparently the fishes didn't. To make a long story short, the bite fell off, so we left them to party or what ever they were doing.

Love hearing reports of successful trips. Pineview is on and off at times. Either it is really good, or painfully slow. I think I may make my way up there again this weekend. Guess I better round up the troops and prep for another hunt. Wink

Thanks for the reports. I must hit the narrows on my toon. Always had excellent luck there for bass.

Randy it was great to have you on my boat and you are welcome anytime. You taught yper jr. and I some new tricks, and you were great company. Here are a couple of pics of the smallies you and Yper Jr. caught.
