Now i know its state law to wear a life jacket when float tubing but i dont ever recall seeing someone wearing one ever and my float tube is basically one in its own because i have a seat back to blow up an actual seat to blow up and two seperate toons to blow up now the odds of all 4 popping have gotta be 1 billion to 1
(also posted on utah bored please vote there to so i can keep a total of everyone so i dont have to do my own math thanks)

[cool][#005000]I always carry one but seldom wear it. Wearing waders, a fly vest and a PFD would be a little much although some place require one to be worn at all times while tubing.[/#005000]

I've only worn mine twice. I think about all the time, like a few weeks ago at Lincoln Beach when my tube started losing air, but then I also think about if I do wear it, I would have to remove it fast to dump my waders before they fill with water and I sink anyway. So I see it as a Catch 22. I see pros and cons on both sides. I guess wheather I wear mine or not depends on the attitude of the day. Which I know is wrong. Al

I'm not sure of the UT regs but here in CA there are some lakes where it is required to have one handy at all times and others that require that it be worn at all times.
The regs may vary from state to state and enforcement of them can be a whole different story.[cool]

Hey there trouthungry,
I wear SOSuspenders which are so inevasive that I've been called on it! I guess if you want to get tricky you could wear one of the new waist style PFDs but I've never seen one inflated.
On the million to one, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that you encounter a herd of porcupine crossing your path and they freak out and begin stampeeding!

[cool][blue]Or maybe a crazed school of little needlefish, leaping into the tube with you.
Ya gotta be careful about what kind of attractant you use.
