I just spoke with the Forest service in Duchesne and they said the road to Moon Lake is accessable. I am hoping that next week sometime to head out there to catch some nice splake and try for some kokanee. Anyone interested in joining me on this adventure??? Still trying to plan a day.

When? I've been thinking of making a trip out that way. Any excuse will do. Mindsoup has been bugging me to get out somewhere for about a week.

Rob, let me know what day and I will go with you. I have some extra days to burn before the end of the year.

Rob, we were up at Moon lake today and had no problem getting to the lake. The road isn't plowed and is slick in spots so be careful if you decide to go. We were trying to fill our elk tags, so we did not fish.

Well I was trying to get up there this week, but the Christmas hit my pocketbook a little hard. But depending on how these storms hit, I might not be out of the equation to go there. I think i will wait for snow now and try to snowmobile in. BTW, did you see ice???

Yes there was plenty of ice, the entire lake is frozen. We did not go down and test the ice and there were no tracks on the ice from ice fishermen at least. There were car tracks down to the dam, maybe a 4x4, so you could get close to the water. I'm sure you could get down to the ice and on to it very easy with a snowmobile.
