I am new to the area and new to this site. I was wondering if someone knew a good place to fish at Strawberry? Or if you know of a nice place to fish just out of SLC. My father is comming in from out of town and I want to show him a good time fishing in UTAH.
Thanks
Chris

hey chris welcome to the site!!
this weekend is going to be hard say what lakes are going to be best.. the weather is reeking havock on all the lakes around the area.. the high lakes have to much snow to get around on them.. and the lower lakes dont have safe ice or no ice at all..
it all going to depend on if we get the cold weather that is supost to get here later in the week..
if the cold dont get here i would look to the lower lakes as a good bet for your trip..
dude on fish?

You might consider going to The Strawberry Marina and renting a snowmobile. They would know the latest ice and snow conditions. Going by snowmobile (with the slush you may want to follow the road over, rather than going across the reservoir) over to Renegade should put you into lots of fish. They would provide you with maps on how to get there. Here is the address to their website:

Chris96. First allow me to also welcome you to the board.
If the res. hasnt frozen (witch I highly doubt it has to this point), my suggestion would be to slip up to Rockport if your open to a little open water fishing (from the bank or boat). Its always fairly good for Bows and Perch. Sorry I cant give you a snow depth if any.
Good luck and welcome aboard.....

Hey thanks for all of your help, I believe we will try Strawberry on Thursday morning. Can you get around on 4 wheelers or do you need a snow machine? Thanks for all of the help.

The snow has been too deep and wet for an ATV. Many reports said that they spent more time getting unstuck than they did fishing.
