For the second time in just over a week I ran up to Pelican Sunday. Ice was still a good 6" but had a inch or 2 of slush and snow on top. Played in the rain for the most part and the bite seemed a little slow with only four iced in as many hours. The two pictured with this thread were both in the 10" class..

Thanks for the report Don, too bad the catching wasn't better. How deep was the water you were fishing in? The reason I ask is because of a post that Fairwayphilly made a few days ago about a small channel in the south east corner of the lake where fourstar farms has their pumps. That area is deeper and the fish hang out there in bigger numbers. WH2

WH2, Yeah I know where that channel is. In fact, it was the first place I stepped on Pelican the first trip out altho' I ended up fishing the north access area. The other day I was fishing in 8'-9' off the end of the dike at the boat ramp. There were plenty of fishies on the scope most of the time but their jaws seemed to be wired shut. Unlike the first go-round the gills were being real picky the second trip out there. The bite that did come came while dead stickin' warmed up waxies on a ice fly.
