Did East Canyon on sunday with the wife. 6" thick in the south arm with the middle of the resevior open water. She kicked my but. we were there for 2 hours she caught 5 I got three on the ice. the fish seemed to like the jigs moving. White Whatta Crickets were best for us.

Depending on where you live in Ogden, it's only about a 30-40 minute drive. I'm not sure on the exact mileage though.

30-40 is right. Ogden to morgan through to porterville stay on that highway it takes you there. Watch for black ice in Porterville.

Also on your way up to East Canyon watch the mountains there is usually alot of wildlife up that way. Deer, turkeys and eagles.Watched a bald eagle a few years ago, swoop down and tried to take a guys fish from the ice.

Thanks HFT. Sounds like I will be by your shop to pick up some White Whatta Crickets since I only have green ones. I caught some pretty nice sized fish by the dam in my tube late last year and have been wanting to head back up.

Thanks for the report James, I've been wondering if that arm of the lake was frozen yet. Was there any size to the fish you caught? What were you using for bait?

The fish ranged from 14" to 18" and we tipped the jigs with wax worms. Tried salmon eggs but didn't get a bit on them.
