I’m here at Rockport fishing with my kids. We got here around 9:00. There were about 30 people fishing. We set up and started catching right away. I’m going to have to watch my 4 year old he out fished me again by catching the biggest fish, maybe it has something to do with the small pole. By noon the 4 of use have caught just over 20 fish all but 2 are perch the others were trout. The weather up here is great the sun is melting the top of the ice. I hope the fog is gone in the valley by the time we return.

Paul, is the ice still 4" thick there? On Monday the ice was cracking but it held up even when the temp hit 42*+.
Are the edges still soft and is my wood plank still there just North of the ramp? I would like to go back up on Saturday, but I am lookind at Causey, just in case. Thanks, Dale.

[cool]Thats got to be a first. The first "real-time" fishing report that I have seen on BFT. Maybe its happened before I just haven't seen it until now. How did you post it? Cell phone with internet access or laptop with wireless internet? Awesome report FishingWaters. Thanks for sharing..

Made it home I thought I would try to make some post on my laptop however the connection was really slow and I keep getting dropped and would have to redial and start the post over.
Dale your plank is still there however the ice is frozen to the edge south of the boat ramp. I would say it is still 4 inches of ice.

I have seen some post were some are catching fish and others were not. We started only catching fish on the poll with 4 lb test so I switched the rest of the poles over to 4 lb test. The smaller lb test allows you to see lighter hits and set the hook quicker. This would help for those that are not seeing hits or that keep missing them.
This is one of the trout that we pulled out today. What type of Trout is it?

I think you have a brown there . They kinda lose some color to them in lakes . Did it have any eggs in it ?

So it is a Brown with out color. The meat was pink not white like a bow. I had wondered if it was a Brown or a Cuttbow. I guest I got my Brown out of Rockport finally I wish it would have been bigger. I didn’t notice any eggs in it, I didn’t look however. Thanks for the info HA.

I pulled one out that I at first couldn't identify as a brown do to lack of colors and the bright spots. But it was a brown. About the same size as yours.
Well done @ Rockport. I can't wait to make it up again for some perch action. I caught some good 11 inchers when I was up there and I fried em up and made a great perch in butter sauce pasta.
Tasty!

The spots look like a brown to me . I did hear somewhere they put tiger trout in there . There could be cutts in there too . I caught quite a few up stream from Rockport . Meat color is related to what they eat , most of the time . I bet if it was bigger brown the meat would be a different color . Most of the bows I have ate had a orange meat color .
