Rockport Ice Conditions?
#1
I am planning on going up there with a group of Scouts tomorrow, so any info on ice conditions by the State Park boat ramp would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

[cool]Kastmaster, read my reply to the other Rockport inquiry tonight. I don't think I'd recommend taking a bunch of scouts out there, when people that have gone out ALL WEEK LONG have been warning others to be careful. I'd take em to somewhere like Lost Creek where the ice is plenty thick, and you can get the kids into a lot of fish.

I agree with the last reply you don't want to have a handfull of kids on potentially unsafe ice if they groupe up in a bad spot or wander out to far you could end up with a DEAD kid. it is not safe to have 4 inches of semi stable ice and kids running around who nows if thats the thickness of the whole lake I do know that there are some spots on the lake right now with less then two inches so keep it in mind don't get a kid killed overe a stupid perch not saying you would but i have herd enough people talking about taking there kids and going up there it's starting to scare me. If it keeps up someone is going to get hurt or worse.
