Strawberry question
#1
Hey, I really want to hit Strawberry again, but I don't think I can use the ATV to drag the gear out anymore. Has anyone tried fishing over by the ledge lately? How crowded is it getting there this year? How easy is it to get the gear down the slope at the ledge and onto the ice? Any other ideas of where to go that I won't be completely surrounded by other people? I really don't think we can trudge through that slush for too far.
I would ideally like to head out there this Friday to celebrate my dad's retirement and would love to see him catch one of the monsters I have seen posted on here.

[cool]What do you mean by "the ledge?" Do you mean the scenic view parking lot kind of by the ladders? Anyway, I fished the berry Saturday, and there wasn't any slush where I was (Chicken Creek West). I think you'd be just fine with a wheeler on Friday at the berry unless they get some snow on Wednesday up there. There's a chance up in the mountains that day. Good luck. Hope you get the old man into some nice fish!

A week ago (no snow since, cold temps, etc.) both Mud Creek and the Marina weren't too bad for slush. Most of it froze up, etc. I did see some wheelers on the ice at the Marina, but none at Mud Creek. One was stuck the week before there though!

I'm with Out4Trout, you might be fine. Watch the reports this week.
